3 Ways To Maximize Your Morning Commute

Morning commutes are rarely enjoyable.

From traffic jams to angry drivers, if anything our morning commute can make our day start off stressful before we even walk in the door at work.

But the good news is – your commute doesn’t have to be a stressful endeavor – it can actually be productive and relaxing.

Successful people know how to maximize their time and take advantage of every minute – even the morning commute to work.

Here are some creative ways to make your morning commute more productive, and less stressful.

Queue Up Podcasts

Is there an area in your personal or professional life you are working to develop or strengthen?

Perhaps you want to learn better time-management skills, or how to set boundaries in your life.

There are hundreds of podcasts covering these topics – and  by simply downloading them and having them ready to play you can actually listen and learn during your commute.

Whether you’re in the car or on the subway – this trick has long been used by successful people as a way to not waste the precious time trapped in a box getting to work.

Go Over Your Daily Schedule

One of the best ways to prepare for your day is to go over your planner and daily schedule.

By taking time to mentally work through your appointments and deadlines, you can help get your brain ready for the day and develop a plan of attack.

You can even get a head start on your daily to-do list

Of course – this only works if you are on a bus, subway, or train!

If you are in a car, you can still mentally go through your day’s agenda, you just won’t be able to write things down.

Meditate

Yes, ideally we’d all get up really early and spend time reading our Bibles and making our gratitude list.

But in reality, the morning rush is often a frantic rush to get out of the house without being late for work.

And while you are dealing with the stressful commute, what better way to ground yourself than listening to a devotional or hearing the audible Bible.

Being able to mediate on God’s word while you are on your daily commute will instantly provide a sense of calmness that will put your mind in a great place to face the day.

It’s also a great way to memorize Scripture!

Maximize Every Minute

We all get the same number of minutes in a given day.

Instead of wasting your morning commute, use it as an opportunity to mentally prepare for the day, or continue growing your personal and professional development.

As a result, you might actually begin to look forward to your commute, instead of dreading it each day!
